David H. Newman, MD

David H. Newman, M.D., is Director of Clinical Research in the Department of Emergency Medicine at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center and also teaches at Columbia University. He is the author of the critically acclaimed "Hippocrates' Shadow: Secrets From the House of Medicine" (Scribner, 2008). In 2005, as a major in the army reserve, he was deployed to Iraq, where he received an Army Commendation Medal. He currently is a consulting editor for Annals of Emergency Medicine.
